In Memory

Arlene Sheehan (Trouf)

Arlene Sheehan (Trouf)

10/29/2008 - We learned recently from Linda Reder that Arlene passed away a week or so ago.  More details and an obituary if we can pull it, will be posted here.  I know she suffered from cancer for 1-2 years, and had some surgeries.  Condolences to her husband, Jim, and the rest of her family.

How sad that Arlene passed away on October 22, 2008, such a short time after the Reunion. I'm so glad I got to you early enough to have her memorialized for the class and I know we all extend our sympathies to her husband and family.

I am so sad to be putting Arlene's name up here. She was a great girl, a lot of fun, and we had good times in school together. I always remember her cloth looseleaf binder, which her boyfriend at the time, Ed DeWitt (a superb artist) had totally covered with all manner of fantastic drawings! After graduation I was glad to learn she married another friend, Jim Trouf, from Palisades Park. They made a terrific couple. We only connected a few times in ensuing years, and I was sorry not to be able to coax Arlene out to any of the prior reunions. She was just happy being a wife and mom and, I think, didn't need much else. Arlene was a very sweet and special girl with a perky and upbeat personality that I always enjoyed. May she rest in peace now, after her long battle with cancer.
