It's bothered me since this site went up that there was no comment under Ralph's picture, although I understood why. He was a loner and a bit of an eccentric--never a good place to be during one's school years and especially not during the 1950s; it might have been easier a decade later--and most likely nobody has felt they knew him well enough to say anything meaningful.
I don't have much to say either, although Ralph lived around the corner from me, on Oradell Avenue, all the while we were growing up. We used to sit together on the bus during those rosy-fingered-dawn rides to Englewood. I don't remember what we talked about. Probably nothing much at that sleep-deprived hour, but I do recall having a sense of Ralph's essential decency.
I wonder what the course of his post-DMHS life was like. I don't suppose I'll ever find out.
